Tundraland & Baths for the Brave Make Headlines

On Wednesday, November 8th something was done for the first time. That something was Baths for the Brave, a national program honoring veterans from coast to coast.

The program was created by Tundraland Home Improvements, a  Kaukauna-based company and celebrated its inaugural year by teaming up with nearly a dozen other home improvement companies from across the United States to provide 10 deserving veterans with the ultimate bath or shower remodel.

Norman Bodway, Korean War veteran and Bronze Star recipient was one of 10 veterans who received a free bath remodel. Bodway’s daughter nominated him to receive the remodel due to the unsafe nature of their previous bath that required the 86 year old  to step over a 2′ high bathtub to enter the shower. Norman’s wife of 66 years, Millie had recently fallen while attempting to step into the shower.

Norman and Millie, along with a Tundraland design specialist, designed a new walk-in shower to greatly improve the safety and accessibility in their bathroom. On November 8th, a team of skilled Tundraland craftsmen installed the Bodway’s dream remodel. For more information on Baths for the Brave, visit www.bathsforthebrave.com.
